About the Role
Recruit I.T. is looking for a Test Automation Engineer to join one of our key clients on a large-scale transformation programme delivering significant change across the organisation.
This is a great opportunity for someone with a solid foundation in automation testing who is ready to further develop their career in a complex enterprise environment. You will be working alongside an experienced team, contributing to modern testing practices, automation frameworks, API testing, and continuous improvement across quality engineering.
The role offers strong exposure to enterprise-level systems, Agile delivery, and a technology stack that includes Java, Selenium, Cucumber, Rest Assured, Jira, CI/CD, RemoteWebDriver, and mobile automation.
What You Will Be Doing
- Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts across enterprise applications.
- Work with Java, Selenium, Cucumber, and JUnit to support BDD automation practices.
- Contribute to automated API testing using tools such as Rest Assured.
- Support the ongoing improvement of test automation frameworks and best practices.
- Collaborate with developers, testers, analysts, and delivery teams in an Agile environment.
- Identify opportunities to improve automation coverage, reliability, and efficiency.
- Support defect investigation, test execution, reporting, and quality outcomes.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in test automation.
- Hands-on experience with Java, Selenium, and Cucumber.
- Experience working with BDD frameworks, ideally using JUnit.
- Experience with automated API testing, preferably using Rest Assured.
- Strong understanding of test automation frameworks and industry best practices.
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with fluent English.
- Exposure to modern automation tools or frameworks such as Playwright or Cypress.
- Basic mobile testing experience, ideally with Appium.
- Basic database testing experience, including queries and data validation.
- Banking or financial services experience.
- Experience with Jira, CI/CD, RemoteWebDriver, or mobile automation.
- You will be proactive, curious, and confident working independently when needed. You will enjoy solving problems, collaborating with others, and continuing to learn as part of a high-performing team.
