About the Role
As a Senior Data Test Engineer, you will work across complex data domains supporting large scale data initiatives. Your focus will be on validating data pipelines, ensuring data accuracy, and driving high standards in test delivery. You bring a strong analytical mindset and pride yourself on delivering high quality testing outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
• Design and execute data testing strategies across ETL and data platform environments
• Perform data validation, data migration testing, and database testing activities
• Develop and execute SQL and Python based test scripts for automated and manual testing
• Validate APIs and integrations across enterprise systems
• Manage defects effectively using enterprise defect management tools
• Ensure data quality and integrity across large scale data transformations
• Collaborate with developers, data engineers, and stakeholders in Agile environments
• Contribute to continuous improvement in testing processes and automation capability
Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role you will bring strong hands-on experience in data testing and enterprise data platforms.
Key experience includes:
- 6+ years experience in data testing, ETL testing, or database testing
- Strong SQL expertise with experience validating large data sets
- Programming experience with Python and exposure to Java or R
- Experience testing modern data platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, or Snowflake
- Hands-on experience with API testing tools such as Postman or SoapUI
- Experience testing ETL or ELT pipelines and data warehouse environments
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and Agile delivery environments
- Databricks, Azure Synapse Analytics, SSMS
- SQL Server, Snowflake, Teradata, Oracle
- Power BI and data visualisation tools
- Selenium WebDriver, JMeter or similar testing tools
- Defect management tools such as Jira, ADO, Bugzilla, or Team Foundation Server
