- We’re seeking a Senior Data Tester to join a specialist team working across a large-scale, enterprise data platform environment.
- This is a hands-on role where you’ll be responsible for validating complex data pipelines and ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and quality of data across the full lifecycle from ingestion through to transformation and data warehouse layers.
- You’ll play a key role in supporting major data initiatives, working closely with data engineers and stakeholders to deliver high-quality, reliable data solutions.
- Design and execute data testing strategies across ETL/ELT pipelines
- Perform end-to-end data validation across source, staging, and target systems
- Write and execute advanced SQL queries to validate large and complex datasets
- Develop and maintain Python-based test scripts (automation and manual testing)
- Validate APIs and integrations across enterprise systems
- Investigate and resolve data discrepancies and pipeline failures
- Manage defects using enterprise tools (e.g. Jira, ADO)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Agile delivery environments
- Contribute to continuous improvement in test automation and data quality practices
Must Have
- Significant experience in data testing, ETL testing, or database testing
- Strong SQL expertise (essential), able to query, analyse, and troubleshoot large datasets confidently
- Proven experience testing across end-to-end data pipelines (not just ingestion)
- Hands-on experience with modern data platforms (e.g. Azure Synapse, Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric)
- Solid understanding of data validation techniques and data quality principles
- Experience working in Agile environments
- Python or PySpark for test automation
- Experience with Databricks or Azure ecosystem
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with data visualisation tools (e.g. Power BI)
- You’re a detail-oriented data tester who enjoys working with complex datasets and solving problems. You’re confident using SQL as a core tool in your day-to-day work and take pride in delivering high-quality, accurate outcomes.
- You’re comfortable working across different layers of the data pipeline and can clearly explain your approach to testing, validation, and troubleshooting.
