About the Role
We're looking for a technically minded Repair Electronics Technician to join a well-established team in Auckland’s marine electronics sector. This is a permanent role suited for someone with a strong understanding of electronics, great customer service skills, and hands-on experience with component-level diagnostics and repair. You'll be supporting both in-house repairs and customer product queries.
This is a hands-on, workshop-based role with some exposure to fieldwork and customer support. You'll also support internal engineering, production, and sales teams and play a key role in ensuring operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair marine electronic equipment at bench level
- Support software installation, upgrades, and system setup
- Read and interpret schematic and system diagrams
- Provide remote support via phone, email, and JIRA ticketing
- Liaise with customers to resolve technical issues efficiently
- Maintain accurate job records, time entries, and warranty claims
- Promote service improvements and report new opportunities to management
- Ensure tools, test equipment, and spares are properly maintained
- A strong background in electronics with high academic aptitude
- Proven hand skills for disassembling and assembling technical equipment
- Sound understanding of acoustic systems or sonar technology
- Proficiency with computers and software setup
- Ability to interpret technical diagrams and documentation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A team-first mindset and customer-focused approach
- Prior experience supporting or servicing marine electronics is highly beneficial
