About the Role
Our client is running a live, large-scale data platform that delivers data products to the wider organisation, drawing together a highly complex landscape of 40 to 60 connected systems into a single, consistent view. The platform is up and running, and the focus now is on lifting how it is architected, integrated and delivered.
This is a genuinely broad Solutions Architect role with an emphasis on data and integration. However you will not be confined to the data platform alone. You will work across the project covering data, integration and cloud, shaping ingestion patterns, exploring alternative CI/CD approaches, and weighing cloud platform choices to drive a more consistent, scalable and efficient way of delivering data products.
You will be tool agnostic by mindset, focused on the right pattern rather than a favourite product, and you will help the data delivery team work more consistently by creating the best practices and reusable artefacts that reduce repetitive effort across distributed systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide solution architecture across the wider environment, spanning the data platform, integration and cloud.
- Design and improve ingestion patterns, integration approaches and data flows across 40 to 60 connected systems feeding a single view.
- Shape architecture for data products built on Snowflake and dbt, with a focus on consistency, scalability and reuse.
- Assess and recommend approaches across CI/CD, cloud platforms and tooling, staying tool agnostic and pattern led.
- Create best practices, reusable design artefacts and documentation that drive a more consistent and efficient data delivery team.
- Reduce repetitive work caused by distributed systems by standardising patterns and reusable components.
- Help the organisation understand and improve how architecture drives data product delivery and outcomes.
- Guide and support delivery teams on sound, pragmatic design decisions.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a Solutions Architect (or similar) across complex data platform environments.
- Hands on experience with Snowflake and dbt in a live, in-production platform.
- Breadth across data, integration and cloud architecture, not data alone.
- Strong grasp of ingestion patterns, integration approaches and modern data platform design.
- Experience working across highly complex, distributed system landscapes with many connected sources.
- A tool agnostic, pattern led approach, balancing best practice with pragmatic delivery.
- A track record of creating best practices, reusable artefacts and standards that lift team consistency.
- Exposure to CI/CD approaches and cloud platform options across data delivery.
- Confident communication, able to translate complex architecture into clear designs and recommendations.
