This company is a thriving managed service provider with lots of loyal clients who have been with the business since its inception. This business focuses on improving the operational efficiency of its clients, by increasing the reliability of their IT platforms, resolving issues faster and minimising network downtime.

This business has a flat structure with a Managing Director, the Technical Team Lead that will join, and then a team of talented engineers below them. They have a culture of helping their employees upskill and asking them; “what do you want to get better at?” and giving them the support to go on that journey.

They predominantly work with Small to medium sized clients with around 10-100 staff members while also working with some larger organisations with staff numbers in the thousands.

They're based in Epsom and offer a lot of flexibility as well as a family-like culture.

About the role

This business is looking for a Technical Team Lead to manage and technically lead their 10 service desk and Systems Engineers.

The world is your oyster with this role, you'll work alongside the Managing Director to drive the future direction of the business. Whatever you do will literally affect how well they do, giving you a high-level of autonomy and impact.

What you'll be involved in:
  • Day-to-day management and work load prioritisation for Engineers.
  • Infrastructure and Network architecture for SMB's.
  • Manage budgets, give sign off on projects, and track their progress.
  • Liaising with Clients and consulting on design and running planning sessions with them.
  • RND for future projects such as their eventual move to Security as a service and the Cloud.
  • You'll also manage their own internal infrastructure.
  • You'll maintain and build upon their current client relationships.

Requirements for the role
  • Experience managing engineers
  • Experience Technically leading projects
  • Expereince with Network and Systems architecture
  • Ability to scope projects and assign budgets and deadlines to them
  • Ability to prioritise workloads for engineers.
  • An MSP background
  • Experience with Office 365, firewalls, WAN deployments, rollout of internet services and VOIP telephony systems, and Wintel infrastructure deployment and support.
